CONTINUING PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT

CONTINUING PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT

We are very pleased to be able to offer an East of England venue for continued professional development courses.

We like to offer courses that promote and develop the McTimoney method of chiropractic care.  Courses that help to develop both existing and new skills, from advanced chiropractic adjustments to soft tissue techniques.

We can accommodate up to 14 participants for practical based courses, or 20 for lecture based learning.  We allocate the largest of our clinic rooms, one for teaching and demonstration and lecture purposes (clinic room 1), and the adjoining room for practical based learning (clinic room 2).

For courses that we arrange, we bring in highly qualified and respected lecturers.  We provide the marketing, take the bookings and payments, provide refreshments throughout the day and a buffet style lunch where possible.  We can also assist with the production of CPD certificates if required.

If you would like to be included on the mailing list for future courses please send an email to simon-dann@ashwoodchiro.co.uk outlining your interest.

If you would like to discuss a potential booking of this venue, or to be included on our list of lecturers please email directors@ashwoodchiro.co.uk.

Course Date: 11th-12th August, 17th-18th August and 22nd-23rd September 2018

Organiser: Health Professions Acupuncture Group

This, fully accredited, Foundation Course in Acupuncture offers you the knowledge, skill and understanding that will allow you to practise acupuncture in a safe and appropriate manner, in a clinical setting. The course provides a Western medical approach to acupuncture – grounded in current research evidence rather than in traditional Chinese philosophical thinking.

You will be encouraged to critically evaluate your clinical practice and where appropriate, challenge the current evidence base. This course is designed to provide you with a rationale for using acupuncture as an adjunctive treatment for the management of common musculoskeletal pain conditions.

Topics covered include:

  • Laboratory and radiological research which is used to explain the mechanism of acupuncture analgesia
  • Current evidence from acupuncture clinical trials research
  • Non-specific ‘placebo’ effects associated with acupuncture analgesia
